Crostini with #onionporn, chèvre, walnuts and dried figs

Italians call them crostini and the French call them canapes. We are always talking about the same thing.

Whatever they call them, there are countless combinations you can create and they are  always an exceptional hors d' oeuvre, especially if you have unexpected guests

We will also use goat cheese, dried figs and walnuts. We will also be really naughty with just a glimpse of  #onionporn from juk-black  on top of these delicious tastes. Don't look any further! #onionporn is the beautiful blend of caramelized onion, balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. It can really transform even the simplest dish to a true masterpiece. Just a baguette is enough to make many of these, so it's good to always keep a baguette in your freezer. When the baguette is frozen, it's easier to slice it and keep the round shape. We slice the baguette in round slices of 1,5 cm and we place them in a shallow pan. Spray them with olive oil or butter, whatever you prefer, and bake them until they are cripsy and a bit brown in color. Focus on the baking; you don't want to end up with some tasty rusks instead. Stir the goat cheese - or chèvre if you prefer in French, until it is soft enough and spread a generous layer on the crostini. Add some finely chopped dried figs and some walnuts. Open your #onionporn jar from juk-black and add one teaspoon of sweet onions. Put the crostini in the grill again till golden brown and cheese is melted. If we want a fresher taste we will add some ground pepper and top with rocket leaves for a peppery note.

Lay them on a big platter and let the battles begin!

No one can have just one!
